Class Driving School is very excited to be able to offer the opportunity to join us as a Franchisee. We welcome like minded ADI's to join and represent Class Driving Driving school. You can join us as an ADI or PDI.
We are offering a Headboard Franchise, this means that you will be providing your own vehicle, either bought, leased or hired. You will still benefit from all the services normally provided on a full franchise. Many instructors prefer this method as they may be joining from another driving school or they may have been trading under their own name so in many cases, they have already sourced their own vehicle.
If you are looking for a professional straightforward franchise then our Franchise may be suited for you. For more information please feel free to get in contact to discuss in more detail.
Unlimited pupils: Continuous supplies of new students, helping you build your reputation and a good local client base.

One month rolling contract we will not tie you down to working for us as from our experience you treat others how you would like to be treated, initially we will ask you for two months to allow us to show you what we can do. If not satisfied, you can exit the franchise with only 30 days notice anytime thereafter.

You will receive a text notification to your mobile with all the booking details and the pupil's contact information.

Yes, the data indicates driving instructor numbers are currently in decline while the demand is projected to increase due to a high number of children born in the early 2000's. Here is the data to support this:
Driving Instructor Numbers 2013-2023
Data source: Department for Transport
· Number of instructors in 2013: 44,569
· Number of instructors in June 2023: 39,789
This has been a 12% drop in driving instructor numbers between 2013 and early 2020, dropping from over 44,500 to under 40,000.
Learners and Exam Numbers 2020 Onwards
At the same time, according to insurance experts Marmalade, there has been a boom in births in 2003, up from 30,000 to 100,000. This means that in 2020, 70,000 additional potential drivers came of age for lessons. This coincided with the COVID-19 epidemic, when driving examination centres closed for health reasons. In 2022, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) official statistics show that 1.67 million driving tests were taken during 2022.
This set of circumstances has created a backlog of demand for driving lessons and driving tests.
Taking a Class Driving School franchise means that you can earn on average around £40,000 to £80,000 gross per year whilst being your own boss depending on the amount of hours worked.
According to the DVSA, a learner driver requires an average of 47 hours of professional teaching plus 20 hours of private teaching before obtaining their licence.
To fill your diary there is a balance to strike between price and being fully booked. Class Driving School sets competitive lesson prices to fill your diary quickly and keep it full. Take a look at your earnings potential as a Class Driving School Instructor in the table below:
*Teaching hours not including travel time between lessons. Amounts shown based on 1.5 hour lessons. Hours can be spread out up to 7 days
We do not recommend that PDI’s work with a full diary initially – this is to ensure that you have the time to reflect on lessons and still allow time for learning yourself.
Our standard Lesson fees are;
1 hour - £40.00
1.5 hours - £59.00
2 hours - £78.00
